Music at Harris ECP is Rockin'! The Kodaly based curriculum in the general music classroom offers our scholars the opportunity to grow their musicianship in the most creative and mentally stimulating ways. Begining with our vocal warmup, stuents are engaged and ready to learn many melodic and rhythmic concepts each and every day. We sing, play games, play instruments, write, read and improvise through learning folk music from around the U.S and the world. Ask your scholar today what they have learned in music class!
Extracurricular clubs include:
All City Honor Choir - Meets for one concert on October 30th. 5 students from 5th grade will be selected for this prestigious group of singers.
Music Memory Curriculum
Recorders - All students in 4th and 5th grade will be learning to play the recorder. Playing recorder allows students opportunities to perform in an ensemble, practice melodic and rhythmic concepts and improve music literacy skills.
